Video 2.3 shows how Prof. Dr. Suleyman Tas uses osteoplasty, shaping the bone with power instruments, to obtain smoother and more symmetric bone surfaces before the osteotomy is performed. According to the book, preparing the bone in this way makes the subsequent osteotomy more successful in crooked noses.
