Video 3.21: Cartilage Paste – The Conventional Scalpel Method and Its Limitations

Before introducing the ultradiced cartilage method, the book reviews the conventional way of obtaining cartilage paste, shown in Video 3.21: the cartilage is curved with a scalpel in a parallel fashion. The method never became widespread because it damages chondrocytes, the melted cartilage loses its ability to give volume, only 0.1–0.3 cc can be obtained and the process is slow.

Watching this video makes the advantages of the ultradiced cartilage technique in Videos 3.22 and 3.23 immediately clear.
