Many women develop sagging breasts for a variety of reasons. One of the most common questions from women dealing with breast sagging is, ‘How can breasts be lifted?’ In this article, we’ll answer that question and cover what breast lift surgery involves, along with what it costs.

Why Do Breasts Sag? Common Myths About Lifting Them

As we mentioned in the introduction, there are many factors that cause breast sagging. In this section, we’ll go over the most common myths about breast sagging, along with its actual causes:

The main causes of breast sagging include:

  • Pregnancy is one of the factors that can cause breast sagging. The physical changes of pregnancy can cause the breasts to sag.

  • Frequent and rapid weight changes can cause the breasts to sag. This kind of weight fluctuation is usually linked to an unhealthy diet and lifestyle, which affects the whole body, including the structure of the breasts. When you gain weight quickly, your skin stretches, and when you then lose weight, the effect on the shape of your breasts can become noticeable.

  • Smoking is another factor linked to breast sagging. Because smoking accelerates skin aging, it also affects the shape of the breasts.

  • Excessive sun exposure is also one of the causes of breast sagging, since ultraviolet rays reduce the skin’s elasticity, which can in turn contribute to sagging.

  • Breastfeeding can lead to changes in breast volume, which in turn can lead to sagging.

  • Another cause, one that everyone is already familiar with, is aging.

Common myths:

Many people think that wearing a bra can prevent breast sagging. However, this isn’t the case.

Some people think that sunbathing can prevent breast sagging. In fact, the opposite is true — sun exposure doesn’t prevent sagging, it can make it worse.

Breast Lift Methods

Because of the reasons listed above, many women look for ways to prevent or reverse breast sagging on their own. This leads many women to read articles online based on hearsay about breast-lift exercises, lifting breasts with lemon juice, and other non-surgical breast lift methods. You may be disappointed to hear this, but there’s no way to lift breasts at home. The only way to lift sagging breasts is breast lift surgery. In other words, a non-surgical breast lift isn’t a real option.

How Does Breast Lift Surgery Work?

Earlier in this article, we covered the possible causes of breast sagging and the most common myths about it, which should give you a general picture of where the problem comes from. We then looked at what can actually be done about it, and established that breast lift surgery is the only real solution. Now let’s walk through how the breast lift surgery process works, and what to expect afterward.

  • First, a patient considering breast lift surgery needs to properly research the right surgeon for breast aesthetics and consult a plastic surgeon they trust.

  • Once the right surgeon has been chosen, the surgeon will help decide which technique should be used, based largely on the patient’s breast structure.

  • Once the diagnosis is complete, the appropriate technique — such as nipple repositioning, breast implants, or fat grafting — is chosen based on the patient’s body and applied. Breast lift surgery itself takes around 2 hours.

  • The patient is given anesthesia during breast lift surgery. Because of the anesthesia, there’s no pain for about the first half-day afterward. Once the anesthesia wears off, however, pain medication should be used, which helps prevent pain and discomfort.

  • Whether scarring occurs after breast lift surgery depends on both the surgeon’s skill and the technique used. For example, the thread lift technique leaves no visible scarring, although it isn’t suitable for every breast structure.

  • Throughout this process, the surgeon listens to the patient’s wishes and also takes basic measurements, such as of the chest wall. The goal is to reach the outcome the patient is hoping for, using the most suitable technique for their body.

Breast Lift Surgery Cost

Breast lift surgery cost varies depending on the technique used and the surgeon’s own approach. To learn more about the breast lift surgery process and cost, you can contact Dr. Suleyman Tas Clinic at +90 532 056 3693.
