Male Facelift Before and After
Most before and after galleries for facelifts show women, and men looking for their own result often find nothing that resembles their face. The men below were operated on personally by Prof. Dr. Suleyman Tas in Istanbul. Each came with a different problem, and each photograph pair was first shared on his Instagram account, where the full video can be watched. For the anatomy and planning behind a facelift for men, read the male facelift in Istanbul page.
Quick answer
A male facelift lifts the deep layer of the face and neck rather than pulling the skin, keeps the beard off the ear and the sideburn at its height, and puts the neck and jawline first. In the cases below, the change is already visible at seven to ten days, and the later cases show how a male face looks a year and a half and ten years after surgery: fresher around the eyes, firmer along the jaw and still recognisably the same man.
Case 1: temple and cheek lift without visible scars, 10 days after surgery
Male facelift before and after
In the photograph before surgery, deep lines fan out from the outer corner of the eye and the cheek has started to slide toward the mouth. The purple arrows drawn before the operation show the directions in which the temple and the cheek were to be lifted. Prof. Dr. Tas shared the case as a male facelift without any visible scars, because the incisions are hidden inside the hair.
The second photograph was taken ten days after surgery. The outer corner of the eye is smoother, the cheek sits higher and the eye looks more open, while the brow stays low, as it should in a man. Some redness and swelling are still present at this stage. Watch the video on Instagram.
Case 2: facelift and neck lift, jawline 7 days after surgery
Male facelift and neck lift before and after
The second patient is a doctor himself. In the photograph before surgery, fullness under the chin and a heavy lower face hide the jawline and the angle between the chin and the neck. The operation combined a facelift with a neck lift and a temporal lift, together with fat grafting, laser skin tightening and resurfacing, and a rhinoplasty in the same session.
Seven days later the jawline is visible from the chin to the ear, the neck angle has returned and the Adam's apple can be seen again. This is the change most men ask for, and it comes from repositioning the platysma muscle and the deep tissue of the neck rather than from liposuction alone. Case 3: revision after two failed operations elsewhere
Male revision facelift before and after
The third patient is a plastic surgeon who had already had two failed operations on his face elsewhere. Prof. Dr. Tas performed a facelift without visible scars together with a neck lift, a temporal lift, a septorhinoplasty that also improved his breathing, and laser skin tightening.
A revision is harder than a first operation, because scar tissue and earlier incisions limit what can be done, and because the signs of the earlier surgery have to be separated from ordinary ageing. See the revision facelift guide. Watch the video on Instagram.
Case 4: front view, a year and a half after surgery
Male facelift before and after
Before surgery the face looks tired: hollows and bags under the eyes, a heavier lower face and a soft line along the jaw. According to the case's Instagram post, the plan was a full-face rejuvenation that also included a rhinoplasty and a hair transplant, and the second photograph was taken a year and a half later.
The under-eye area is smoother, the cheeks and jawline are firmer and the face looks rested without looking operated on. The brows have not been raised and the expression is his own, which is the goal in a man. Watch the post on Instagram.
Case 5: cheek and jawline lift, early result
Male facelift before and after
The markings drawn before surgery show the plan: dotted lines and arrows over the cheek and along the jawline mark the directions of the lift, and the lines on the nose mark a rhinoplasty performed in the same session. The second photograph is an early view after surgery, with fading marks still visible on the neck.
Even at this stage the jawline runs more cleanly from the chin to the ear and the lower cheek no longer hangs over it. Swelling continues to settle over the following weeks.
Case 6: profile of a bearded man, jawline and neck
Male facelift before and after
A full grey beard can hide a soft jawline and a heavy neck, and it also makes the incisions harder to plan, because beard-bearing skin must stay off the ear. In the profile before surgery the cheek sits low and the angle under the chin is blunted. The plan for this patient also included a rhinoplasty and a hair transplant.
After surgery the profile is cleaner: the neck angle is sharper, the beard line sits where it was and the face looks lighter without any change to the way he wears his beard. Watch the video on Instagram.
Case 7: ten years after surgery
Male facelift before and after
This is the longest follow-up on this page. Prof. Dr. Tas performed a facelift without visible scars, a neck lift, a temporal lift and a rhinoplasty, and the second photograph was taken ten years later.
Ten years of ageing show, as they do in every face; a facelift does not stop time, it resets the starting point. A decade on, the nose profile is still straight, the jawline and the angle under the chin are still defined beneath the beard, and the face has kept its own expression without any sign of a pulled look.
What to look for in male facelift before and after photos
The neck angle. It should be sharper under the chin without a tight or pulled look.
The sideburn and beard line. The sideburn stays at its own height and there is no beard on the ear.
The earlobe. It hangs freely and is not pulled down.
Expression. The eyes, mouth and smile move as before; a man should still look like himself.
The time point. Photographs at one or two weeks show the early change; swelling keeps settling for weeks after that. Compare results taken at the same stage.
How a facelift for men is done in Istanbul
Prof. Dr. Suleyman Tas operates on one patient per day, under local anaesthesia, and performs each operation personally. You return to your hotel the same day with a private nurse, the stitches are removed at about one week, and the usual stay in Istanbul is about eight days. Most men are back at office work in two to three weeks. The fee is quoted individually after your photographs have been reviewed; see facelift cost in Turkey for what affects it.
More results, including women and longer follow-up, are in the facelift before and after gallery.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do men get the same facelift as women?
The principles are the same, but the plan differs. In men the incision in front of the ear usually runs in front of the tragus so that beard-bearing skin is not moved onto the ear, the sideburn is kept at its own height, and the emphasis is on the neck and jawline rather than on lifting the cheek. See the full male facelift guide.
How soon can a man see the result of a facelift?
The new jawline and neck angle are already visible at about one week, as the second case on this page shows, but swelling and firmness continue to settle for several weeks. The later cases show the same kind of face a year and a half and ten years after surgery.
Will people notice that I had a facelift?
The aim in men is restoration rather than elevation: a sharper jaw, a cleaner neck and a less tired look, with the brow kept low and expressions unchanged. Over-correction reads as feminised, which is why the lift is carried by the deep layer and not by pulling the skin.
Can a facelift that was done elsewhere be corrected?
Often, yes. The third case on this page is a plastic surgeon who had two failed operations on his face elsewhere before coming to Istanbul. A revision starts by separating the marks of the earlier surgery from normal ageing, because each needs a different correction. See the revision facelift guide.
How long do men stay in Istanbul for a facelift?
About eight days, until the stitches are removed and Prof. Dr. Tas has cleared you to fly. Most men return to office work at two to three weeks.
How can I find out whether a facelift would suit me?
Send your photographs for an online consultation. Prof. Dr. Suleyman Tas reviews them, tells you which areas would change and agrees the plan with you before you travel.
