Wrinkle Removal and Treatment
Updated: Sep 27
The most noticeable sign of aging is skin wrinkling. In this post, we'll cover what wrinkles are, why they occur, and how to remove and treat wrinkles. Happy reading.
What Are Wrinkles?
Wrinkles occur when the amount of collagen in the skin decreases and the skin loses its elasticity. The most significant factor in this process is advancing age. Wrinkles that form on the face and neck in particular are noticeable and can bother a person. On the face, they are most commonly seen around the eyes, on the forehead, and between the eyebrows.
Why Do Wrinkles Occur?
There is no single factor responsible for the formation of wrinkles. Many factors contribute to wrinkles. Let's go through them one by one:
Advancing Age: As age advances, the skin begins to lose collagen. At the same time, the skin loses its elasticity, and the structures that keep it firm can no longer hold it as tightly as before. As a result, the skin loosens and wrinkles form.
Smoking: Smoking is one of the most important factors that damages the skin's structure and causes it to wrinkle at an early age. Premature aging is unavoidable in people who smoke.
Genetic Makeup: If skin quality is not very good genetically, wrinkles can begin to appear at an early age.
Stress: Just as intense stress brings many health problems, it also causes serious issues for the skin. Skin conditions and wrinkles are among its most common effects.
Nutrition: Diet is another factor that causes wrinkles on the skin. Insufficient, irregular, and poor nutrition, along with inadequate water intake, causes both wrinkles and acne problems.
Environmental Factors: Air pollution, exhaust fumes, unsuitable skincare products, makeup, sun exposure, and extremely hot or cold weather conditions are among the other factors that cause wrinkles on the skin.
Wrinkle Treatment
Treatments are available for wrinkles that form on the skin. The first of these treatments is Botox application.
Botox
The most effective treatment method for wrinkles in the forehead, between the eyebrows, and crow's feet areas is Botox application. Botulinum toxin injection deactivates the muscles that cause wrinkles. In a sense, those muscles are temporarily paralyzed. When performed by skilled and experienced hands, it carries no harm. It creates an ironing effect on the skin, providing a smooth and firm complexion.
The Botox procedure takes 5 minutes to apply. It begins to take effect within a minimum of 3 days and a maximum of 9 days. Its effects last for 9 months. After 9 months, the effect of Botox wears off and the skin returns to its previous state.
Mesotherapy
Mesotherapy, with the many vitamins it contains, has the ability to correct wrinkles and tighten the skin. In particular, the vitamin C it contains directly and positively affects skin quality by increasing collagen levels.
Mesotherapy is applied over 3 to 6 sessions, with each session lasting approximately 5 minutes. Its effects appear after 2 to 3 weeks and last for 6 to 7 months.
Salmon DNA
Salmon DNA application is also known as the youth vaccine. Derived from salmon fish DNA, it provides significant moisturizing to the skin. Once its moisture needs are met, the skin becomes more resistant to wrinkles. It is also one of the effective methods for treating existing wrinkles.
Like mesotherapy, Salmon DNA application is arranged in 3 to 6 sessions. There is a 2 to 3 week interval between each session. Its effects appear after 2 to 3 weeks and last for 6 to 7 months.
