Deep Plane Facelift Cost 2026: How Much Is a Deep Plane Facelift?

8 min read

Quick answer. A deep plane facelift usually costs about 15,000 to 75,000 USD in the United States once the surgeon's fee, anaesthesia and the operating facility are added together, depending on the surgeon. In the United Kingdom it costs about £12,000 to £40,000, with London's best-known surgeons at the top of the range. At Prof. Dr. Suleyman Tas Clinic in Istanbul, a deep plane facelift costs 15,000 USD, and the TAS Signature Lift, which combines the deep plane face and neck lift with everything else your face needs, costs 30,000 USD all-inclusive.

This guide explains what a deep plane facelift costs in different countries, why it costs more than a standard facelift, what the price should include and how to compare two quotes fairly. It is written by Prof. Dr. Suleyman Tas, a plastic surgeon in Istanbul who teaches the deep plane technique to other surgeons in live-surgery courses.

The TAS Signature Lift includes surgery, local anaesthesia, tests, medication, a private nurse, six hotel nights for you and a companion, transfers, hyperbaric oxygen and one year of follow-up

The figures for the United States and the United Kingdom come from surgeons' own published price pages (see the sources at the end of this article). They change with the city, the surgeon and what is combined, so treat them as ranges, not quotes. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons reports an average surgeon's fee of 11,395 USD for all types of facelift, and that average does not include anaesthesia, the operating room or other costs.

How much is a deep plane facelift at Prof. Dr. Suleyman Tas Clinic?

We publish one transparent price list. If you choose procedures one by one, they are priced as follows:

  • Deep plane facelift: 15,000 USD

  • Deep plane neck lift: 10,000 USD

  • Endoscopic temporal lift (fox eye lift): 5,000 USD

  • Forehead lift (brow lift): 5,000 USD

  • Upper blepharoplasty (upper eyelid surgery): 3,000 USD

  • Lower blepharoplasty (lower eyelid surgery): 3,000 USD

  • Fat injection (nano fat transfer): 3,000 USD

  • Lip lift: 3,000 USD

Chosen individually, these add up to 47,000 USD. The TAS Signature Lift is 30,000 USD all-inclusive: Prof. Dr. Suleyman Tas combines everything your face needs from this list in one session. You do not pay extra if he decides your face needs a neck lift, eyelid surgery or fat transfer as well. The only thing you book yourself is your flight.

The price includes the surgery performed personally by Prof. Dr. Tas under local anaesthesia, pre-operative tests, all medication and dressings, a private nurse, six nights at the Vital Fulya hotel (five metres from the clinic) for you and one companion in the same room, airport transfers, Istanbul discovery tours, a daily hyperbaric oxygen session, one year of online follow-up and a free touch-up at your one-year check-up if any area needs it.

Why does a deep plane facelift cost more than a standard facelift?

A deep plane facelift is a longer and more demanding operation than a skin-only or SMAS plication facelift. Instead of tightening the skin or folding the superficial muscle layer, the surgeon works beneath the SMAS (the superficial musculoaponeurotic system), releases the retaining ligaments of the cheek and jaw, and lifts the skin and the deep layer together as one unit. That is what gives a natural result in motion and a longer-lasting jawline, but it requires precise knowledge of where the facial nerve branches run.

  • Operating time. Prof. Dr. Tas usually needs six to eight hours for a deep plane face and neck lift combined with the other areas a face needs. He operates on only one patient per day and performs no surgery on the day before yours.

  • Training. Fewer surgeons are trained to release the deep plane safely, so their time is priced higher.

  • The neck. Most patients who need a deep plane facelift also need a deep plane neck lift. Some quotes include it and some do not, which is the most common reason two prices are not comparable.

  • Anaesthesia and facility. In the United States these are billed separately. Prof. Dr. Tas performs the operation under local anaesthesia, without general anaesthesia, and the cost is included in the TAS Signature Lift.

What should a deep plane facelift quote include?

A quote is only useful if it says exactly what you are buying. Before you compare prices, ask every clinic to confirm the following in writing:

  1. The name of the surgeon who will operate, and whether the same surgeon performs the whole operation.

  2. The technique: deep plane, SMAS plication or a mini lift. These are different operations with different prices.

  3. Whether the neck lift is included, and which other areas (eyelids, brow, temples, fat transfer, lips) are included.

  4. The type of anaesthesia and who gives it.

  5. Medication, dressings, garments and pre-operative tests.

  6. Where you recover, for how many nights, and who looks after you on the first night.

  7. Follow-up after you go home, and the policy if a touch-up is needed.

When these lines are written out, a deep plane facelift that looked cheaper often turns out to be the same price or higher, and a package that looked expensive often turns out to include everything.

Deep plane facelift vs SMAS facelift: which costs more?

A deep plane facelift usually costs more than a SMAS facelift because it takes longer and requires more specialised training. The difference in price is smaller than the difference in what the two operations achieve. A SMAS plication lift tightens the surface layer and can relapse sooner in heavy faces, while a deep plane facelift moves the cheek fat and the jowl back to where they were and gives a sharper jawline. You can read a full comparison in deep plane vs SMAS facelift.

Why are some deep plane facelifts advertised for 3,000 to 5,000 USD?

Very low prices usually mean that something has been removed from the operation or from the care around it: the neck is not included, a mini lift is sold under the name "deep plane", the surgeon who meets you is not the surgeon who operates, several patients are operated on the same day, or the follow-up stops when you leave the country. Ask the seven questions above. A price that cannot be broken down line by line is not a price you can compare.

Is a deep plane facelift worth the cost?

For a patient with real sagging of the cheek, jowl and neck, a deep plane facelift is usually the most cost-effective option over time, because the result lasts much longer than fillers, threads or energy-based treatments that need to be repeated. It is not the right operation for everyone. If your main concern is fine wrinkles or skin quality, a facelift will not fix them on its own; Prof. Dr. Tas explains this in the consultation and will tell you if you do not need surgery.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a deep plane facelift?

In the United States a deep plane facelift usually costs about 15,000 to 75,000 USD including anaesthesia and the facility, depending on the surgeon. In the United Kingdom it costs about £12,000 to £40,000. At Prof. Dr. Suleyman Tas Clinic in Istanbul it costs 15,000 USD, or 30,000 USD all-inclusive as part of the TAS Signature Lift.

How much is a deep plane facelift in Turkey?

At Prof. Dr. Suleyman Tas Clinic in Istanbul, a deep plane facelift costs 15,000 USD and a deep plane neck lift 10,000 USD. The TAS Signature Lift, which combines the face and neck lift with any temporal lift, brow lift, eyelid surgery, fat transfer or lip lift your face needs, is 30,000 USD all-inclusive, with six hotel nights, a private nurse and transfers.

Does the price include the neck lift?

The individual deep plane facelift price (15,000 USD) does not include the deep plane neck lift (10,000 USD). The TAS Signature Lift includes both, together with every other procedure on the list that your face needs.

Does insurance cover a deep plane facelift?

No. A deep plane facelift is a cosmetic operation, and health insurance does not cover it.

Why is a deep plane facelift more expensive than a mini facelift?

A mini facelift lifts the lower face through shorter incisions and does not release the deep ligaments or treat the neck properly. A deep plane facelift takes several hours longer, treats the cheek, jowl and neck together and lasts longer, so it costs more.

Are there any extra costs?

With the TAS Signature Lift there are no extra costs; only your flights are not included. If you choose the private option, in which your photographs are never shared, the fee is double the standard fee (60,000 USD).

How long do I need to stay in Istanbul?

Seven days: one day for analysis and tests, the surgery on day two, then six nights at the hotel with your private nurse and a final check with Prof. Dr. Tas before you fly home.

Can a deep plane facelift be done under local anaesthesia?

Yes. Prof. Dr. Suleyman Tas performs every deep plane face and neck lift under local anaesthesia, without general anaesthesia. You are awake, comfortable and pain-free, and you go to your hotel the same day. Read more in awake deep plane facelift.
