Video 3.8: Dorsum Surgery and Hump Correction – Result, Case 3

What this video shows

Video 3.8 is one of four result videos (Videos 3.6–3.9) introducing the dorsum chapter. The book makes a clear statement here: preserving anatomy is not enough if the surgeon cannot create a surface that is aesthetically pleasing with its lights and shadows. A patient cannot be told that the dorsum was preserved but the nose has widened or that no other modification was possible.

The cases in these videos show how Prof. Dr. Suleyman Tas combines dorsum preservation with the goal of obtaining the best possible result, giving priority to the frontal view of the patient, followed by the side and base views.

Key points

  • Real patient result after dorsum surgery for a hump nose.

  • Illustrates the balance between preservation and aesthetic dorsal lines.

  • One of four result videos accompanying Chapter 3 (Videos 3.6–3.9).

For patients: hump removal today is not only about taking the bump away; the goal is a natural, narrow, straight bridge that looks right from the front.
