Video 4.7: ST Flap – Animation of the Surgical Technique

Video 4.7 presents the ST flap as an animation, complementing the live surgery in Video 4.6. The animation makes the geometry of the flap easy to follow: the incision in the caudal part of the lateral crus, the 6 mm main body that is preserved, the transposition of the cephalic segment on its scroll-based pedicle and the way the two cartilage surfaces are adapted to each other to correct convexity or concavity.

Because the scroll ligament is cephalically adhered to the internal valve, the caudal movement of the scroll-based cartilage island increases the internal valve angle, which is the functional gain of the technique highlighted in the book.
