Male Rhinoplasty Before and After: Real Patients of Prof. Dr. Suleyman Tas

The photographs on this page show men who had closed rhinoplasty or septorhinoplasty performed by Prof. Dr. Suleyman Tas in Istanbul, photographed before surgery and at 7 days, 4 months and 1 year afterwards. Each set shows the same patient from the same angle, so you can judge the change in the bridge, the tip and the width of the nose for yourself.

A male rhinoplasty is planned differently from a female one. The bridge is kept straight or very slightly convex rather than scooped, the tip is defined but not turned up, and the angle between the nose and the upper lip stays close to 90 to 95 degrees, so the nose still reads as masculine. Over-reduction and over-rotation are the two most common reasons men are unhappy after a nose job elsewhere, and they are the two things these results avoid.

What to look for in the photos:

• Profile: the hump is removed but the bridge stays strong; there is no dip or "ski-slope".

• Front view: the nose is narrower where it was wide but still in proportion with the face; the nostrils do not show excessively.

• Tip: defined, not pinched; the shape keeps slimming for 12 months, especially in thicker male skin.

• Scars: none visible, because all incisions are inside the nostrils (closed atraumatic rhinoplasty).

• Breathing: many of these men also had a deviated septum corrected in the same operation.

Prof. Dr. Suleyman Tas has performed more than 10,000 nose operations, teaches rhinoplasty to surgeons from other countries at live-surgery courses in Istanbul and is the author of the textbook Rhinoplasty in Practice (CRC Press, 2020). Patients from abroad usually stay in Istanbul for about 7 days, until the cast is removed, and online follow-up continues for one year. The fee is quoted individually after your photographs have been reviewed.
